Video and photography
Israel offers various excursions for tourists, but it should be remembered that the camera and camcorder should be in hand and used with caution, especially in relation to strategic civilian and military installations. This is due to the tense relations between Arabs and Israelis that have developed in recent years. Also, do not forget that leaving your personal belongings and even baggage unattended is prohibited.
It is not recommended to photograph power plants, airports, railway stations.
Usually the Israeli police are quite loyal to tourists, especially those who are accompanied by an official guide – a representative of a travel company. In any case, you should be aware that the detention of a tourist by the police for more than 20 minutes is considered an arrest, and you have the right to subsequently apply to the court for moral compensation. The police are required to provide an act explaining the reasons for the detention.
Bans and alcohol
Since August 2010, a program to combat alcoholism has been operating in Israel. You should be aware that drinking in public places is prohibited at any time of the day, and from 21.00 to 06.00 the police have the right to seize alcohol. At night, you can buy alcohol only in bars or restaurants.
Safety of resting and swimming in the Dead Sea
Please note, for your health, experts recommend swimming in the Dead Sea for no more than 20 minutes in one session and preferably no more than 2-3 sessions per day. If the water of the Dead Sea accidentally gets into the nose or eyes, then especially the eyes should be thoroughly washed with ordinary water. Do not dive! And after bathing, take a shower of fresh water.
