Levant, how much in this sound …

One of the most attractive places on earth is the countries of the Middle East, or, as they were called before, the countries of the Levant. The cradle of world religions and civilizations, the arena of brutal wars and a treasury of historical and archaeological values of global significance. Even military conflicts that do not cease in this region cannot stop those who are attracted here by their relentless interest in the history, religion, culture, architecture and nature of this ancient land. Not only for Jews If you are at least a little Jewish, and according to the Israeli law of return, not only children but also grandchildren of Jews are considered as such, then it makes sense for you to think about a prestigious education in Israel. Indeed, today only two conditions are necessary to achieve the cherished goal. First, you must have the right to repatriation to the state of Israel. Secondly, you must be at least fifteen years old and no more than twenty-one years old. All classes in Israeli educational institutions are held in Hebrew. Special youth programs of the Jewish Agency in Russia will help to master Hebrew, as well as deepen the study of English, and they are focused not only on future students, but also on their parents. Participants in all youth programs live with peers from other countries in absorption centers, youth student centers, kibbutzim and student dormitories. Students during and after school are under the constant supervision of teachers, educators, psychologists. Children studying in Israel are given the opportunity to go home for free on vacation once for the entire period of study. If we are talking about higher education, Israeli universities are ready to accept new, energetic young people into their walls. Due to the huge percentage of our former compatriots among the country’s residents, it is much easier for students from Russia to adapt to life in Israel than their peers from other countries. Russian citizens can enter any Israeli university (the only exception is medical specialties). To do this, you need to go through a one-year training program. Those who wish should be at least a little Jewish and have a certificate of secondary education. In addition to the psychometric test, young people pass exams in English, logic, and math. Arriving in Israel, they teach Hebrew for the first five months, and only then they are prepared for admission to the university. During study, accommodation and meals are paid. Each month, pocket money is issued an amount of 250 shekels (about $ 40). Potential students who successfully complete the training program must decide whether or not to accept Israeli citizenship. If they decide to become Israeli citizens, then they fall under the program of assistance to repatriates. In this case, the state lends part of the money for study and accommodation to them. One of the most prestigious and oldest Israeli universities – the Hebrew University of Jerusalem – is a whole country of knowledge, picturesquely spread on the slopes of the ancient city. It is believed that the very atmosphere of Jerusalem contributes to an in-depth study of various sciences. But, if you want to study in a freer environment, then you can choose the Open University in Tel Aviv. This is the most affordable university, it is accepted without exams. Basically, those who have a job are studying here, so to speak “on the job” from production and business. The main form of study is correspondence. But the diploma of this university, as well as of all universities in Israel, is highly rated in the world. Other well-known universities are Technion (Israeli Polytechnic Institute), Haifa University, David Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Tel Aviv University. As for those who do not have Jewish roots, Israeli universities accept foreign students, so to speak “on a common basis” – that is, for quite a lot of money. Education for foreigners in Israel is expensive, this is due primarily to the fact that the cost of living in Israel is quite high – higher than in other countries in the Middle East. Israel’s neighbors – Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt – live much more modestly, and the cost of studying at their universities is much lower.
